Atelier is a contemporary design studio working across cultural, editorial, and institutional projects. The goal was to create a digital presence that reflected their disciplined process and typographic sensitivity. The website needed to feel structured, intelligent, and confident — without unnecessary visual noise.

Challenge
The primary challenge was balance. The studio’s work is expressive, yet their positioning is restrained and methodical. The website needed to reflect both qualities without leaning too heavily in either direction.

Approach
The process began with structure. A 12-column grid was developed to ensure consistency across all templates. Typography became the central design element — establishing rhythm and hierarchy without reliance on decorative elements. A minimal color system was introduced, allowing imagery and layout to carry emphasis.

Generous negative space
Subtle motion for refinement
Navigation was simplified to reduce cognitive load, allowing users to focus entirely on the studio’s work.
